Ole and Johan (John) Walli's father was Jon Jonsen Valli ("Stampar'n"), who farmed in the Selbu area. This photo was probably taken in 1906, after John and Anna were married, and prior to their departure for America in early 1907. Johan's brother, John, remained in Norway, while Ole and Johan emigrated. John and his first wife, Ragnhild, had one son: John. After Ragnhild's death, ca. 1909, John married Marit Serine. They had two sons: Johan and Olav. (If there were not enough confusion with the various spellings of John/Jon/Johan, the situation became even more complicated by the fact that Johan went by John after he arrived in America.)
