All of the Wallis gathered in the summer in the back yard of
John and Anna's house in LaCrosse in the late 1950s.

Summers occasionally offered an opportunity for family gatherings in LaCrosse. While there were sometimes picnics in the LaCrosse city park, the house and its back yard were also the scene of much activity.
