M. G. Slind grew up north of Seattle in the State of Washington's picturesque Skagit Valley. He received his
bachelor's degree from Pacific Lutheran University and his doctorate in history from Washington State University.
Dr. Slind has studied and done research at both the University of Oslo and the University of Heidelberg, where he was a Fulbright Scholar. He has served on the faculty of several colleges and universities in the United States and in Europe. His reading interests include European history, contemporary politics, modern fiction, and various modern crime genres, in particular "Nordic Noir."
An avid golfer, he also enjoys fly fishing in the mountain streams of the western US and Canada. Occasionally he serves as a destination lecturer on cruise ships.
